Shouldn’t we cry
When innocent skulls are innocuously scavenged
When harmless Somalians are heartily harmed
When a bloodbath buries 500 Iraqis every day for the past 3 years
When mavericks mop away reason from religion
Yes, we must, but cry not to sympathize, but empathize with courage
That some sincere blessing from an unconnected unknown fellow human
Will rescue humanity
From the throes of hostility and tears of frailty
